The IFIP TC6 Working Group 6.6 has been very successful in organizing flagship events like IM and NOMS, as well as smaller events such as DSOM, MMNS and others. Key to success has been the good collaboration with our IEEE ComSoc sister organization CNOM. If elected, I would like to continue this successful collaboration. In addition, I would like to increase the coordination and cooperation with other IFIP WGs.

An important goal for the next years is to improve the quality as well as quantity of research contributions in our field. Quality can be improved by:

• better educating authors, for example by organizing tutorials on how to write papers
• supporting special PhD training programs, such as summer schools
• fostering collaboration and interaction between PhD students
• helping TPC chairs and editors to find qualified reviewers, for example by improving review data within JEMS
• supporting reviewers to become more effective
• fighting stronger against self-plagiarism violations and authors that repeatedly do not show-up to present their papers

To improve quantity, it is important to attract more people to our field and increase the number of submissions to our journals and magazines (e.g. TNSM, JNSM, ComMag, IJNM). To promote our research field, additional ways to distribute information may be used, such as RSS feeds, wikis, podcasts and blogs. Collaboration with standardization and other organizations should be ntensified, as well as with operators and industry.
